Deciding to reach out for therapy can feel like a big step, and it's natural to have questions about what it involves. I offer both individual therapy, with sessions available in person at my Galway practice, online via Zoom, or by telephone.
Before we start working together, I offer a free 10-15 minute phone consultation. This gives us both a chance to talk about what's brought you to therapy, for you to ask any questions, and to see if we feel like a good fit. There's no obligation to continue, and no pressure. It's simply an opportunity to see if this feels right for you.

Being trauma-informed means understanding how past experiences, whether recent or long ago, can affect how you feel in the present. It's about creating a safe, supportive space where you're in control of the pace. I work gently, prioritising your sense of safety and choice, helping you build resilience without feeling re-traumatised.

Our bodies often hold onto stress and difficult experiences in ways we don't consciously realise. Somatic therapy involves tuning into physical sensations, tension, and how your nervous system responds. Through mindful awareness, movement, and breathwork, we can help release what you've been carrying and support you in feeling more grounded and present.

As an integrative therapist, I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches to support your mental and emotional wellbeing. This flexibility allows me to adapt therapy to your changing needs, whether we are focusing on understanding past experiences, managing present-day challenges, or developing practical strategies for the future.
I offer sessions in person at my practice in Galway, online, or by telephone. Each option offers the same level of care and confidentiality. In-person sessions suit those who prefer face-to-face connection, whilst online and phone sessions offer flexibility if you're outside Galway, have caring responsibilities, or simply feel more comfortable speaking from your own space. All sessions are 50 minutes long.
There's no set timeframe. Some people find a few sessions helpful for working through a specific issue, whilst others benefit from longer-term support. We'll regularly check in about how things are going and what feels right for you. You're in control of how long you continue, and there's no pressure to commit to a certain number of sessions.
People come to therapy for many different reasons. You might be feeling overwhelmed, struggling with anxiety, low mood, or stress, or noticing patterns in your thoughts, feelings, or relationships that no longer feel helpful. Some people come to process past experiences or trauma, while others simply want a safe space to reflect, explore, and understand themselves more deeply. Therapy offers a supportive and confidential environment where you can explore what matters to you, develop new ways of coping, and build insight and resilience at a pace that feels right for you.
I offer a free 10-15 minute phone consultation before we start working together. This gives us both a chance to talk about what's brought you to therapy and see if we feel like a good fit. If you're looking to book, please contact me by phone or email, and we'll arrange a time to talk.
The first session is a gentle opportunity for us to get to know one another and for you to share what has brought you to therapy. We will explore your current concerns and your background at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I will explain how I work, answer any questions you may have, and go through practical details such as confidentiality and boundaries. There is no expectation to share anything you are not ready to; the focus of this first session is on creating a sense of safety, understanding, and seeing whether working together feels right for you.
Yes, everything you share in therapy is confidential. The only exceptions are if you're at serious risk of harm to yourself or others, or if there's a legal requirement to share information, but these situations are rare. I'll always discuss any concerns with you first where possible.
The therapeutic relationship is really important, and it's okay if it doesn't feel right. If that's the case, I encourage you to be honest about it. There's no obligation to continue, and I'm happy to support you in finding another therapist who might be a better match.
Sessions are usually offered on a weekly or fortnightly basis, depending on your needs and circumstances. We can discuss what feels most supportive for you, and this can be reviewed over time as your needs change. There is no pressure to commit to a particular frequency; we will work together to find a rhythm that feels manageable and right for you.
If you'd like to arrange an initial consultation or have any questions about how I work, you can reach me by phone or email. I typically respond within 24 hours, and we can take things from there at whatever pace feels comfortable for you.
